If you are serious about security, then value, not the bottom line, is what you should look at. All installed electronics vary widely in price for what seems to be the same thing. It is what you cannot see that matters. Many people take for granted that an installer knows the best way to run wire or the best place to mount a piece of equipment. This assumption is risky at best. Believe it or not, there are some companies out there that don't care about quality, they only care about getting on to the next job so they can add another "satisfied customer" to their list.
As with anything you buy, you get what you pay for. With "low cost" or "no cost" installations, the company is only interested in the fastest way to finish and get paid. In addition, you are usually under a long-term contract for their services so you have no way out.
Always check the length of any contract and add up the total dollar amount of that contract. That is your bottom line, not the $0 or $99 you might pay up front. Also, check to see that if YOU are not satisfied with their work, there is a way out of the contract.
You may also want to check with agencies that track reliability and licensing. Check referrals and prior installations to get a better picture of a company before you sign anything.
All new monitoring accounts have a one-time $25 setup fee, but we never require our customers to sign a long-term contract. Our monthly fees are some of the lowest in Kentucky without sacrificing performance. If you have a favorite brand of equipment, we can probably supply it. If you wish to supply the equipment yourself, we can still offer installation, service, or monitoring.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO CHANGE YOUR SERVICE AND MONITORING TO US:
We would welcome the chance to service your system, but for your own legal protection, please check with your existing company for any binding contracts. We will not advertise or "lure" customers away from their existing service companies, but we feel that if a customer comes to us because they are not being satisfied, they are probably not being secured as well as they could be.
Keep in mind that we may or may not be able to reprogram your existing equipment so there may be the expense of replacing a part.
